Pierre Trudeau:
The Insults and the Antics
Let’s face it, Pierre Trudeau was a goof. Far from the
"charismatic leader" most people think of him as, he was rude,
obnoxious, flippant, and unconcerned. From outrageous actions such as
pulling a mockery of a pirouette behind the back of the Queen of
England, to such unthinkable vulgarity as telling a member of parliament
to f*** off, Trudeau was the master of impropriety. Listed hereafter are
some of the more notable indecencies he committed:
 | Fingering
the province of British Columbia:
|
On a train ride through Beautiful British Columbia, Trudeau
decided to respond to the protests of the province’s citizens by
thrusting his arm out of his window and waving his middle finger at
them with callous disregard for civility. Far more than being simple
bad manners, this was a general affront to the sensibilities of the
province’s citizens, and proved just how much he cared what they
thought.
 | Insulting
Richard Nixon:
|
Upon be referred to as "that ***hole" by US President
Richard Nixon, Pierre Trudeau scoffed: "I’ve been called
worse things by better people." All involved must agree that
Nixon’s offhand comment was not very well thought out, but Trudeau’s
remark was clearly insulting and inappropriate, and further damaged
his already rocky reputation among the population of our southern
neighbours.
 | Pirouetting
at the Queen:
|
With highest disregard for the Supreme Monarch of the
Commonwealth, Trudeau spun a nasty pirouette behind the back of
Queen Elizabeth II as she walked by. Blatant disrespect; need more
be said?
 | "Watch
me":
|
When asked by members of the press how far Trudeau would dig into
the privacy of innocent Canadian citizens, referring to the invoking
of the War Measures Act as a means of rooting out the Front de
Liberation du Quebec, a protesting French Canadian organisation,
Trudeau merely replied: "Just watch me." Far from
informing the Canadian public of his plans, and explaining his
intentions, he nearly threatened them, by promising to hold nothing
back in his terrorist witch-hunt. This lack of friendliness and
decency showed what was truly in his head; not peace, but his own
personal security.
 | Four
letter words:
|
During a debate in the House of Commons, Trudeau reached the
height of madness when he retorted to a comment made by an
opposition MP with two simple words: "F*** off." Such
coarse language was a trademark of his personality, though he rarely
let it show through to the media. In fact, when said media
approached him to determine just what had gone on, he was evasive,
and merely muttered: "Fuddle duddle," and left. Hardly
apologetic or proper.
Through these incidents and more, Pierre Elliot Trudeau proved
himself ignorant, naïve, and callous. His frequent bad behaviour
established him as one of the worst Prime Ministers our country
has yet seen. |
